Software Development SIG

7:00 pm every Third Tuesday of the month
at Donato's in Page Manor, 5600 Airway Road, Dayton, Ohio

Meetings free - membership in DMA is encouraged, not required.
Programs are a mix of demos and discussions, covering a wide range of topics and skill levels.
We usually begin with a discussion about current projects or technical questions.
Our goal is to:

MAY - A demo of Dean's PLC clock. Disscussion on just-released Chromebooks and networking thru LinkedIn.
APR - Demo from George on his work with VB macros. Discussion on DIY home automation.
MAR - Talking about opportunities in the "Micro Workforce". Practice modifying easy HTML code. Demo from Ed on Freecorder
FEB - Several online video clips about screen scraping. Discussion of projects we could take on within the group.
JAN - Comparison of programming languages using a common program: 99-bottles-of-beer

AUG - News from last month's PyOhio conference. Quick review of the Python language.
JUL - Glady and Jim attended PyOhio

This SIG began in March 2003 as the Delphi Development SIG (GDDG). The name was changed once the focus was expanded to general software development. Keith Wire and Mark Erbaugh led the group for several years. Glady Campion restarted the SIG in 2007 after a period of several months with no meetings. We are currently a small group of developers - the discussions are interesting - and we are always looking for a challenging project.
